Company Logo File Sizes

The Company Logo file that you load into Design Manager should be about a 100KB JPEG or less.  The software will not accept a logo if it exceeds 2MB.  The reason that the logo file size needs to be small is for printing purposes.  The bigger the file size of your Company Logo, the longer it will take Design Manager to print your documents where the logo is included, so to have normal printing speeds please remember to keep the logo image file as small as possible but to still support the required resolution for your printer.  For example, a 1200 dpi CMYK color printer must use 4 pixels to represent each color plus black and white, 1200/6 = 200dpi, so a 150dpi to 200dpi image would print best on 1200dpi color printer - too large of an image will actually print worse than a smaller image file at the correct dpi.

Best file types and resolutions:

16 bit PNG file, BMP, TIFF, or JPG

Black & White: 300 dpi

Color: 150 dpi

Company Logo Options

Design Manager has two options for your Company Logo, using a logo that does not have your company's contact information in it or using a logo that does include your company's contact information.  If your logo does include your company's contact information then you will need to check the specified box below the logo.  This is important because it determines the size of the logo required for the documents and whether Design Manager prints your company contact information on the document or not.

A logo without the contact information in it will print in the upper left-hand corner of the document at a size of 1.5" x 1.5".  Design Manager will then print your company contact information immediately to the right of the logo. (For Cloud users this logo size will appear on Residential, Commercial and Classic Document Styles)

***Cloud Users ONLY - a Modern Style document will print the logo centered and at 8" x 1.5"- the company information will print as the footer of the document ***

NOTE: We highly suggest that your logo file be sized at 1.5" x 1.5" or 8" x 1.5" prior to loading the image in as we do not resize the image to fit.

A logo with the Company contact information in it will print in the upper left-hand corner of the document at a size of 3" x 3".  The Design Manager Company information will NOT print. (For Standard Cloud users this logo size will appear on Residential/Commercial and Classic Styles)

*** Cloud Users ONLY - a Modern Style document having a logo with the Company contact information in it will print centered and at 8" x 3"The Design Manager Company information will NOT print.  ***

NOTE: We highly suggest that your logo file be sized at 3" x 3" or 8" x 3" prior to loading the image in as we do not resize the image to fit.

Images will NOT be scaled proportionally to fit within these dimensions.  In other words, if you use a logo with the name and address, it must fit within a 3" x 3" box.  If your image is wider that it is tall, for example 6" wide and 2" high, in order for the image to not overwrite any other data that prints on the document, you should resize your logo image to fit inside a 3"x 3" prior to loading it.
