Proxy Servers, Design Manager Cloud, and error " Cannot connect to the Citrix XenApp server. SSL Error 4 ... "


If you receive the error “Cannot connect to the Citrix XenApp Server. SSL Error 4 …” it is very likely your computer is using a proxy server. Proxy servers intercept content over the internet before it gets to its destination. They are used for legitimate and malicious purposes all across the web.


Because of the security risks, Design Manager Cloud and all other SkyBox Applications DO NOT support proxy servers.


What do I do if I get this error?


It is always best to consult an I.T. specialist if you are unsure if you use or need to use a proxy server. Companies will often use proxy servers to limit and monitor internet traffic, secure connections, and provide anonymity. Other times, malware that changes proxy settings may have been unintentionally downloaded onto your computer. Hackers can then monitor your internet traffic for malicious purposes.


How do I disable a proxy server so I can access my apps?

 

PC: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/change-internet-explorer-proxy-server-settings#1TC=windows-7 Uncheck box in step 4 and click OK.


Mac: System Preferences -> Network then select the Advanced button in the lower right. Then select Proxies.

I must use a proxy server, now what?

 

If you must use a legitimate proxy server, then you must add your DM or SkyBox site to the list of sites to bypass. Typically the site you will specify is https://cloud.designmanager.com.
