Transfer Emails from your Gmail Account to your new Microsoft Exchange Email Account

To transfer your old emails from your Gmail account into your new Exchange Email account it is as simple as adding you Gmail account to Outlook and then dragging and dropping.  Please follow the below steps:

  1. Click File- Account Settings
  2. Click New
  3. Click Manual setup- Next
  4. Click POP or IMAP- Next
  5. Fill out the screen like pictured below but with your Gmail account information and then click More Settings.
  6. Click the Outgoing Server Tab, select the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication option and be sure Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected as well.
  7. Click the Advanced Tab, fill out the screen as shown below, and Click OK.
  8. Click Next on the Add New Account Window to Test Account Settings.
  9. Outlook will test the Account Settings and let you know when it is successful.
  10. Click Finish
  11. You should now see both your old Gmail account and your new Exchange account down the left hand side of Outlook as shown below.  (note: the name of the Gmail account could be the exact same name as the new account and that is OK)  The final step is to drag the emails from your Gmail account into your new account.  You can put them all right into your Inbox or you can create a folder structure.  You can create new folders under your Inbox by right clicking on the word Inbox and choosing New Folder.
