Programming POS Scanners and Resetting to Factory Defaults

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have purchased your POS scanner from Design Manager, your scanner has been shipped already programmed for you.  You do NOT need to continue with this article unless you are experiencing issues with the device and have been instructed to do so.


Design Manager offers three POS scanners for purchase to use with the POS system to scan items purchased by a customer. Review the section for the scanner you have purchased below for more help.


Motorola LS2208 and Motorola LI4278 - Cordless:


If the scanner is not working properly, please follow the steps below to reset it to the factory defaults and then reprogram to work within Design Manager. Your scanner was shipped with a Guide that is blue and white.  If you have this paper, please scan the following barcodes (you can also print this article out and scan the below barcodes):


  1. Scan the Return to factory Defaults ? Set Defaults barcode.
  2. Then Scan each of the following barcodes below to reprogram the scanner:
  3. Test your scanner by scanning a DM Inventory label inside DM POS system or with Notepad open.

Honeywell 1202G ? Cordless:


If the scanner is not working properly, please follow the steps below to reset it to the factory defaults and then reprogram to work within Design Manager. Your scanner was shipped with a Quick Start Guide, if you have this paper, please scan the following barcodes (you can also print this article out and scan the below barcodes):


  1. Standard Product Defaults barcode.
  2. Then scan the Add CR Suffix barcode.
  3. Test your scanner by scanning a DM Inventory label inside DM POS system or with Notepad open.
