Printing Issues (Dell, Brother or Lexmark printers)

Printing using a Dell 800/926/948, Brother or Lexmark X7600/300/800/900 Series All-In-One printers, printing arrives in the local print queue and the printer begins to warm up but the print job disappears from queue and nothing or a blank page


The problem is that Dell uses LEMF as the print processor for its printers. LEMF is incompatible with the current version of Design Manager Online.

To fix the issue, go into the printer settings for the printer installed on your computer (Control Panel/Settings -- Printers and Faxes)

Right click on the printer and choose Properties or Printer Properties;

Click on the Advanced Tab, click on the Print Processor button at the bottom, then change the Default data type to NT EMF 1.008.

Re-boot the computer and try to print from DM On-Line again.

Design Manager has not had any reports of any downside to changing this setting. Should the user want to maintain the factory setting from Dell then two printers will have to be installed, one with factory setting and one with the new setting.
