Citrix Receiver: DPI Settings
Applies to Windows systems with Citrix Receiver 4.10 and later
This fix was released to address an issue with high resolution displays and issues with Windows display resolution scaling. When boosting text and icons to over 100 percent for better visibility, the mouse behavior could become unpredictable or cause screen flashing, especially with multiple monitors that are not identical sizes. Using a 4K or Ultra-HD display can also require a DPI adjustment.
Upgrading the Citrix Receiver to version 4.10 will introduce a new feature called DPI Settings under Advanced Preferences. The default setting is to let the operating system decide, and should be the best choice in most cases.
First, look for the minimized Citrix Workspace running near the system clock. Right-click and choose Advanced Preferences
Switch the DPI Settings option to the alternate choice: No, Use the native resolution.
Close and reopen Citrix Workspace. You must exit Citrix to have the setting to fully apply. It should restore the display back to smaller, crisper looking text as shown below:
In a less common scenario, the Native Resolution can appear too small. If this is the case, you will need to change your Windows display settings to a value that is a workable medium. Set the Receiver DPI back to High Resolution, and then go to Start > Settings > Display and set the Scaling setting to 100 Percent. This will make your Windows icons and text smaller, as it is no longer boosting them over 100 percent. Design Manager should display without the pixelated text.
Alternately, you can force a custom resolution by going to the https://cloud.designmanager.com website, login with your credentials, go to Settings and choose a safe value. 1024x768 is a good starting point, and then can be increased or decreased depending on the hardware in use. This custom resolution will only work for logging in via the web portal, and not via desktop icons.
